The Sprutz Waterfall near Mürren is a refreshing hiking destination on hot summer days. On this circular route, you also pass three mountain inns, which makes the hike even more enjoyable. The start is a bit steep: from Mürren up to Suppenalp. On the wonderful viewing terrace with views of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, you just have to sit down and take a break. The path to Schiltalp then runs partly along the “Northface Trail,” a themed trail with information boards focusing on the north faces of the Bernese Alps. At the Schiltalp mountain inn, as well as a few hundred meters lower at Spielbodenalp, there is another opportunity to stop for refreshments – then the Sprutz Waterfall finally comes into view. On the zigzag path down to the waterfall, it can be quite slippery, so caution is advised. What’s special is that the path goes behind the waterfall, enabling beautiful photo opportunities. The return to Mürren is then an easy downhill walk with great views.

You can also go directly from Mürren to Spielbodenalp (without passing Suppenalp and Schiltalp), the hiking time then takes about two hours.
