Mürren, one of the nine car-free villages in Switzerland (Bettmeralp, Braunwald, Mürren, Riederalp, Rigi, Saas Fee, Stoos, Wengen, Zermatt), is always worth a visit. Already in the village, a magnificent panorama opens up to Eiger, Jungfrau, the glacier-covered north faces around Äbeni Flue, and Mittaghorn – a backdrop that remains with us throughout the entire high-altitude hike. In addition to this impressive scenery, the hike offers many opportunities to stop at charming alpine huts.

From the "Mürren" station of the Schilthornbahn, it takes 5 minutes through the cozy village to the valley station of the Allmendhubelbahn. From the Allmendhubel mountain station, we take the alpine path down into the Blumental. Passing the Pension Sonnenberg, we reach the Suppenalp at a short right curve near Suppenboden. The rustic mountain inn with a terrace invites you to a first rest. Then the scenic high trail gently ascends, then continues on an alpine lane without elevation changes to the alpine cheese dairy Schiltalp at Im Schilt. From here, there is a beautiful view of the entire Schilttal and the Jungfrau. Now we descend to the Schiltbach and continue to the Spilbodenalp. A beautiful place for a long rest. Following the signs to Sprutz-Gimmelwald, the path continues downhill. First over alpine pastures, then through the forest and over switchbacks to the impressive "Sprutz" waterfall. Further descending through the forest and then over alpine pastures, we reach the still rustic mountain village of Gimmelwald. From there, the gondola takes us back down to the starting point at the Lengwald valley station.
