Hike from the much-visited Lauenensee past the impressive Geltenschuss to the Geltenhütte. The Geltenschuss was saved in the 1950s from being drained for a hydroelectric project. Several exposed sections, surefootedness required. Hardly any paved surface.

Lauenensee is known not least thanks to the rock ballad by the Swiss German rock band Span (...i gloube, i gange no meh a Louenesee…). Even the journey to this well-known excursion destination offers a highlight: from the post bus, the two magnificent waterfalls Geltenschuss and Tungelschuss can be seen.

At the starting point Legerlibrügg, the destination Geltenhütte is already indicated. Ascending through forest, you reach the Alp Feissenberg. Here you have a view of the Geltenschuss. In 1956, the Bernese Government Council rejected the concession application to dam the Geltenbach and thus to drain the waterfall for electricity generation, and the following year placed Geltenschuss under nature protection. Initially flat over an alpine pasture, then through a slope the path ascends. A special experience is the section past behind the waterfall. This is followed by a rocky section. Shortly afterwards, you reach Geltenhütte. It was rebuilt and enlarged in late summer 2014 to meet the demands and expectations of the guests.

From Geltenhütte, the hike leads through alpine pastures, rocky sections, and finally through forest over "Usseri Gälte", the "Gältetrittli", "Chüetungel" and the "Tungeltrittli" to Vorsass. Several exposed sections must be passed, some equipped with ropes. Surefootedness is required. With luck, marmots can be spotted. At Vorsass, the route leads after a hairpin bend over an alpine pasture and on a forest road back to the post bus stop Legerlibrügg at Lauenensee.
