As the dialect rock band Span sings: „I gloube i gangene no meh a Louenesee“, the idyllic mountain lake is always worth a hike. It does not require any special skills, making it an ideal family hike. Only at the end is there a short section of hard surface.

From the starting point of the hike, follow the sign for Lauenensee. You will easily reach Vorderi Höji Wispile via a short section through forest and pastures. During the further hike along the ridge or nearby, you can enjoy the mountain panorama: to the left about Wasseregrat and the Louene valley, straight ahead Wildhorn and Spitzhore, Les Diablerets, up to the right Gummfluh above the valley of the young Saane. At Chrinetritt turn right and stay on the hiking trail (the shorter variant to the left is steeper with some exposed sections; therefore, it is marked as a mountain hiking trail). After a descent through forest and over meadows, you reach the pass crossing Chrine going upwards. Then it continues initially ascending, later descending on a path. Thanks to maintenance work in recent years, it is well passable. It changes above Spitzi Egg into an alpine road. It takes patience until Lauenensee becomes visible. The forest obscures the view. With some attention, however, suitable photo viewpoints can be found. Likewise, the Tungelschuss waterfall can only be seen in some places. This makes the descent exciting. Unnoticed, the lake is reached. A rest area and benches invite you to take a break. The destination of the hike, the Lauenensee bus stop with the signpost including the location Legerlibrücke, is not far away.
