From Berghaus Männdlenen, it is possible to descend steeply but pleasantly into the valley of the Schwarzen Lütschine; the descent route ends at the Bernese Oberland Railway station Burglauenen. The descent route is also recommended as a shortcut if you are somewhat late on the way from First to Schynige Platte.
