Food Tour Lake Brienz

Go on a culinary tour in the Bernese Oberland. Discover the wonderful Holiday Region Interlaken by boat and train and enjoy a delicious three-course meal, with each course served at three different stops. The tour can be booked daily from 1 September to 19 October 2025.

One tour, two journeys and three courses await you. First, you’ll be treated to a delicious starter at the 3a Restaurant in Interlaken. At noon, you’ll take the boat across turquoise Lake Brienz. On board, you’ll be served an appetizing lunch. After your arrival in Brienz, you head to the Restaurant Weisses Kreuz, where a sweet dessert awaits you. Afterwards you’ll feel your cares melt away as you walk along the quay. For the end of your food tour, it's on to Interlaken Ost with the Zentralbahn on a dreamlike train ride on which you enjoy the views on Lake Brienz and its autumnal landscape from another perspective. During your whole food tour, a digital and analogue guide will give you directions to each destination and supply you with entertaining facts.

The Food Tour

10.30 am: start of the tour and you receive your starter kit
The food tour begins in Interlaken. To go on the tour, you receive a starter kit. The starter kit contains the following: A QR code to begin the digital tour, an analogue guide, a regional drink, three food vouchers and tickets for the boat and train.
 
11.00 am: 1st culinary station – 3a Restaurant Interlaken
The laidback 3a Restaurant is your first stop. Here, you can choose from a selection of regional dried meats, regional mountain cheese or a vegan aperitif with a drink.
 
12.07 pm: 2nd culinary station – Lake Brienz boat cruise
On the "MS Brienz", you’ll be served a seasonal main course and a drink. On the way, you’ll enjoy the view of turquoise Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains.

1.30 pm: 3rd culinary station – Restaurant Weisses Kreuz
It is only a 2-minutes' walk from the landing stage in Brienz to the Restaurant Weisses Kreuz. Here, you'll enjoy a sweet dessert. In good weather, you can eat your dessert on the terrace.
 
After the dessert: Visit to Brienz, the woodcarving village
Upon arrival in Brienz, treat yourself to a leisurely walk and explore the charming woodcarving village.
 
3.02 pm: Spectacular train journey
The Zentralbahn will take you back to Interlaken along the shore of Lake Brienz. Sit at the panoramic window on the left side of the carriage in the direction of travel and enjoy the view.

Meat: Veal stew with sage and lemon served with noodles including 1 glass of wine, beer, soft drink, coffee or tea
Fish: Perch fillet in batter with chive potatoes and tartar sauce including 1 glass of wine, beer, soft drink, coffee or tea
Vegetarian: Seasonal pasta dish including 1 glass of wine, beer, soft drink, coffee or tea
Vegan: Lentil and coconut Dal with rice including 1 glass of wine, beer, soft drink, coffee or tea
 
***Dessert***
Meat/Fish/Vegetarian: Dessert plate including 1 coffee, espresso, tea or mineral water, soft drink, beer (3 dl)
Vegan: Fruit salad with lemon sorbet including 1 coffee, espresso, tea or mineral water, soft drink, beer (3 dl)

*Children aged between 6 and 16 years will be served alcohol-free drinks only

The Food Tour can't be booked for children under 6 years of age, but they are of course still very welcome. The boat trip and the train ride are free of charge. Consumption in the restaurants must be paid for independently.
