Special tour: Forest garden & perennial vegetables on 26.07. or 30.08.
At Schweibenalp we have been developing a forest garden area for several years with several small satellite plots, experimenting with which woody plants and perennials suitable for human nutrition are particularly well suited to our montane climate and our soils.
During the tour you will learn the basics of the fascinating “forest garden” principle, the different types that exist, what their particular characteristics and advantages are compared to conventional annual vegetable crops, and also which challenges must be overcome and where possible limits may lie.
You will also get to know numerous perennial crops in person and learn interesting facts about their cultivation and how they have proven themselves so far at Schweibenalp.
This tour can ideally be combined with lunch at 1:00 pm as well as the general tour through the permaculture landscape (in English) in the afternoon. Please note this when registering.
