- Start: Saanenmöser
- Destination: Gstaad
From Saanenmöser station, walk a few steps east towards Zweisimmen, cross the village street, then turn onto the prepared winter hiking trail towards Schönried. This leads in the first section along a stream.
The path is lined with information boards that provide interesting facts about the history of the Saanen landscape. After about a quarter of an hour, the winter hiking trail forks. While one branch continues on the historical trail to Schönried (30 minutes to Schönried station), follow the turnoff ascending on a small road towards Wittere. After about 300 m, the path turns off to the right of the road and leads through quiet mountain forest on a forest road. Along the way, there are magnificent views of the vast plain of the Saanenland and the surrounding mountain world, dominated powerfully by the summits of Gummfluh and Le Rubli. The route crosses a ski slope twice; caution is advised here due to possibly fast skiers. It also passes under the chairlift from Schönried to the Horneggli. The ski area operation however does not disturb the peace and enjoyment of the magnificent winter landscape.
In the Schlittmoos area, the winter trails fork again. While one route leads back towards Schönried (30 minutes to Schönried station), continue straight towards Gruben/Gstaad and reach the woodland lining the snowy stream of the Ärbserebach. Following this, descend to the small road that continues towards Gruben (also marked as a winter hiking route). Just after crossing the Ärbserebach, take the winter hiking trail to Nüweret/Gstaad, which branches off to the right from the road and goes across the snowy meadow.
The route descends gently with longer flat sections towards Gstaad. In the Gruben area, it forks again. One variant continues to Nüweret, ending at Hotel Le Grand Chalet. The other section follows a small stream, then crosses a small road to the railway line, which is crossed before quickly reaching the village center of Gstaad.
