Chüematte Trail

Wonderful view over Lake Thun and magnificent backdrop with Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Varied panoramic route with beautiful forest sections.

From the mid-station Vorsass of the Niederhorn cable car, you ascend northeastwards towards Flösch. After a short forest section, open terrain follows, offering a wonderful view over Lake Thun. From Flösch, it continues through pristine, light forest to Unterburgfeld. The alpine hut in front of the magnificent backdrop with Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau invites you to take a break.
In the opposite direction to the winter hiking trail, the snowshoe route then leads back up towards Oberburgfeld. Parallel to the forest border, it then goes over to Chüematte. In good weather, the Chüematte-Beizli is open here on weekends.
From Chüematte, the descent follows the winter hiking trail down to Beatenberg. Via Hohwald, you reach the Waldegg bus stop near Hotel Regina.

Note(s)
The route can be simplified by only snowshoeing on the 1st section (Flösch - Unterburgfeld) or only the 2nd section (Oberburgfeld - Chüematte). The rest follows the prepared winter hiking trail. Nearby wildlife quiet zones.

Snowshoe rental is possible at Intersport Grossniklaus in Beatenberg.
