The section Brienz - Interlaken is part of the Berner-Oberländer-Weg, which will lead us from Brünig to Amsoldingen. The route can be walked on both shores of Lake Brienz. Here, the route over Iseltwald and Bönigen is described. We are on the Swiss Jakobswege.

Today's stage will take us over a distance of 22.5 km with a walking time of about 6.0 hours from Brienz to Interlaken. It is a moderate day stage. We start the hike along the lake promenade heading east and cross the Aare after about 3.0 km. This route is not marked with the Jakobsweg signposts. Therefore, we exclusively follow the yellow local signposts of the Bernese hiking trails. The path leads us today over asphalt and natural paths. After about 4.5 km, we reach the highest point of the day stage at 733 m altitude. Further, we pass the Giessbach Falls after about 6.0 km. We follow the lakeside path and reach Iseltwald after about 11.5 km. The route continues via Bönigen and we arrive in Interlaken.

Today, we pass the following sights: Giessbach Falls, former Interlaken monastery

There is the possibility to walk this stage via Oberried and Niederried (Variant A).
