Exciting, demanding hike on a good mountain path to waterfalls, a unique natural spectacle. A wild romantic setting can be seen around Lauenensee. Surefootedness is required at the Burgfälle.

By train it goes through the beautiful Simmental to Gstaad. From here the PostBus takes us to the starting point Gsteig Post. The hike starts in the direction of Walliser Wispile past typical Oberland chalets. The path runs along the young Saane coming from Sanetsch. Before the power station, the river is crossed, then continues on pleasantly soft forest ground. Soon the path climbs steeply and the first waterfall is reached. The Burgfälle consist of a unique formation of five waterfalls lying on top of each other. They appear most impressive when the water flow is high. The path leads partly on steps and over narrow bridges well secured with railings. Upon reaching the uppermost waterfall, you leave the forest and now the path leads over gentle pastureland with a view of the distinctive Spitzhore. Past the alpine hut village Vorderi Wispile, you stand on the Walliser Wispile belonging to the canton of Bern, 1982 meters above sea level. Its name has history: farmers from Valais used to drive their cattle over the Sanetsch pass to graze on the Wispile. The detour (10 min) to the highest point is almost a must, the view of the rock folds in the nearby rock face is impressive. The hike continues to the small Moorseeli. At point 1750, take the wider path leading to Lauenensee. The idyllic rest area invites you to a long break. The tour ends with the PostBus ride via Lauenen at Gstaad station.
