From Meieberg, the mountain hiking trail leads over pastures up to the small Puur pass crossing. Below it lies the beautifully nestled Seebergsee in a hollow at 1831 m above sea level. Depending on the light, its water shimmers cornflower blue, slate gray, or moss green. The icy mountain lake has no surface inflows and is partially drained underground.
Due to the nearby parking lot and alpine farm, dozens of people gather daily in summer on its shore in good weather. The special acoustic conditions in this natural arena attract alphorn players, and many visitors shout until they find the best spot for the echo. Those who have had enough to see and hear continue hiking along the mountain slope. The Seehore with its bright, jagged limestone cliffs and karst fields now draws all eyes. Below the hiking trail, alpine meadows spread out, variably intersected by small valleys, hollows, and ridges. In places, the karst ground is covered by only a thin layer of vegetation. At Stiereberg, the trail branches off towards Zweisimmen. Before the nearly thousand-meter descent into the valley, there is still an opportunity to pause on the terrace of the nearby mountain inn, enjoy the view, and delay the descent a bit with local delicacies. Across alpine meadows and through mountain forest along the Mariedbach, the trail leads down into the Simmental and along the Simme to Zweisimmen station.
