- Destination: Kleine Scheidegg
The sight of the triumvirate Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau makes this pleasant, easy-to-walk hike the ultimate classic. Vacationers from almost all countries can be encountered. Orientation is easy; from the starting point of the hike, the destination Kleine Scheidegg is marked on the signposts. A tip for all photographers: capture Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau together in one shot right at the beginning of the hike. Later, they will no longer fit in a single photo. The Tschuggen sneaks into the image and obscures the view of the Jungfraujoch. It stands out with its green meadows against the eternal snow of the triumvirate. But other peaks are also worth seeing, such as Faulhorn, Wetterhorn or Schilthorn. The path is level or slightly downhill. After passing the Tschuggen, the Lauberhorn appears on the right, for ski sports enthusiasts the epitome of the men’s downhill discipline. The view down to Grindelwald enchants. Soon the destination of the hike, Kleine Scheidegg, is reached. Here, the Jungfrau Railway and Wengernalp Railway trains painted in various colors catch the eye. Travelers to the Jungfraujoch must change trains here because the track gauges and power systems of the two railways differ.
