This hike offers the experience of art and history. At first glance, it seems paradoxical to undertake a mountain hike at less than 1000 meters above sea level. Outside the settlement area, there is no hard surface.

At the starting point of the hike at Meiringen train station, follow the signpost direction Hasliberg / Hohfluh into Amtshausgasse. From the signpost location Meiringen Amtshaus, follow the indication Schrändli Bärenwägli. On a steep path marked as a mountain hiking trail, the ascent goes through the forest and a short stretch on a driveable path over pastures passing the Alpbach waterfall to Schrändli. Here, the sculpture garden invites you to visit. The route continues on a driveable road uphill toward Hasliberg – Reuti. At the next signpost, follow the hiking trail to Mühlefluh Reuti. Shortly after, the Milibach is crossed and the aerial cableway Meiringen – Hasliberg is passed underneath. Through the forest, the footpath climbs to Mühlefluh point 975, the highest point of the hike. From here, there is a view of Meiringen and the Brienzerrothorn mountain range. Now the descent follows, mostly again through forest and pastures via Wylerli into the valley floor. A short ascent follows, which bypasses a longer section on hard surface. Surprisingly, the Resti tower appears, the only preserved part of the Resti castle ruins from the 13th century. It once served to protect the traffic routes in the valley floor and to the Grimsel, Joch, and Susten passes. Following the signposts to Meiringen train station, you pass by the worth-seeing, art-historically interesting St. Michael's Church on your way to the end of the hike.
