This short hike through the Wallbach Gorge on the outskirts of the holiday resort Lenk is also wonderful for families. “The Wallbach, which flows on a north-facing limestone plate, plunges several meters deep at its edge.” That already sounds exciting, this text on an information board at the beginning of the hike. Then it goes along the water and up the first stair steps next to the wild Wallbach. Several platforms invite you to rest and enjoy impressive views downwards. Washed-out holes, a small canyon and then this surprising waterfall, which is probably only known to a few outside the Simmental valley.
At the upper end of the gorge the path then leans back and leads along the forest edge straight towards the Wallegg-Stube. In this pretty mountain inn, you can relax with a wonderful view into the valley and of the Lenk mountain scenery, before you walk down comfortably to the village center.
