The section Thun - Amsoldingen is part of the Berner Oberländer Route, which will lead us from Brünig to Amsoldingen and can be taken as an alternative to the original route Merligen - Amsoldingen. We are on the Swiss Jakobsweg.

Today's stage will lead us over a distance of 11.3 km with a walking time of about 3.0 hours from Thun to Amsoldingen. It promises to be an easy day stage. We start the hike at the train station and follow the signposted paths along the Aare river to Scherzligen. The path today leads us over asphalt and natural trails. We continue along the western shore of Lake Thun, past the lido and through Bonstetten Park, until we reach Gwatt after about 5.5 km. We climb up to Gwattegg and cross the motorway. After about 7.5 km we reach Zwieselberg and shortly after, at 665 m altitude, the highest point of the day's stage. The path continues through the Riederwald forest and we arrive in Amsoldingen.

Today we pass the following sights: Scherzligen Church, Schadau Castle, Amsoldingen Romanesque Pillar Basilica

There is the possibility to take the original route Merligen - Amsoldingen via Spiez.
