Alpine meadows with lake view: Aeschiried – Brunni – Leissigen

From the village of Aeschiried, you quickly reach the broad, partly wooded ridge that separates the Suldtal from the Lake Thun area. Along its back, the mountain path ascends moderately steeply. The meadows offer beautiful views of Lake Thun and the Niesen. On the ascent, the Brienz Lake can also be seen far to the east. Via Aeschiallmi, you reach Greberegg and Brunnihütte in several stages of ascent, each interrupted by flat sections. The imposing Morgenberghorn increasingly moves into the center of the view.

The view from Brunnialp is magnificent. In the depths, Lake Thun shimmers in a rich blue, above it stretches the double rocky ridge of Niederhorn and Sigriswiler Rothorn. Dense fir forests and open pastureland form a varied natural mosaic.

On the flank of Morgenberghorn, a beautiful high-altitude path crosses the In de Wenge area. Then the descent begins. It initially leads steeply down to Leissigbärgli, then through forest and over meadows to Leissigen.

A particularly beautiful flower meadow is the Stoffelberg-Allmi above Meielisalp. It is located immediately above the confluence of the descent route into the Panorama Circular Trail Lake Thun. The nature there appears colorful and diverse. Orchids and Turk's Cap lilies grow on the species-rich meadow, with wet areas with cotton grass in between. Countless butterflies flutter from one blossom to another. This gem was awarded the Cultural Landscape Prize of the Oberland East region in 2012.

Every year, particularly beautiful and valuable cultural landscapes are awarded in the Oberland East region with the "Cultural Landscape Prize". Through support and image cultivation by tourism, the award is intended to be a small incentive for farmers to continue sustainable management and thus contribute to the preservation of our beautiful nature.
