The title "4-Lakes Route" sounds promising. One of them can be seen for a long time, the others are more or less hidden behind bushes and trees and only partly visible. Mostly away from the waters, still an attractive hike in the Thun West district. Longer sections on hard surfaces.

The route is continuously marked from the starting point at Seftigen train stop to the tour destination at Amsoldingen church. The rise at Talacher is reached soon. After a short flat section follows the descent into the village district of Obergurzelen. At the exit of the village, turn onto a field path. Soon a signpost with the location Geistsee follows. It is hidden behind trees and bushes on the shore. Here, turn sharply left. After the hamlet Bim Wald, the view falls on Lake Dittlig. Along meadows, one reaches the hamlet Hattigen, with the Grizzly Bear restaurant. Children would probably like to take a break at the playground. The route continues over Kärselen to Weiersbühl east of the village Uebeschi. A farm road leads at some distance along Lake Übeschi and Lake Amsoldingen. The shores are hardly developed, but grown with trees and bushes. Therefore, the view of the two lakes is possible only at a few places. Soon the church and the castle Amsoldingen appear. The church is very worth seeing; it forms an important stage on the pilgrimage route from Einsiedeln to Santiago de Compostela. The castle is privately owned and not accessible. Both buildings are considered cultural assets of national importance. Next to the church is the bus stop.
