Fire and Fireworks Ban in the Canton of Bern

Due to the ongoing drought and the new heat wave expected next week, a ban on open fires in forests and near forests (minimum distance of 50 meters) is in effect immediately throughout the entire Canton of Bern. In addition, setting off fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices, releasing sky lanterns, and lighting bonfires are generally prohibited.

Due to the “high” (Level 4) fire danger rating, the district governors have extended the fire ban in forests and near forests (minimum distance of 50 meters) to the entire canton.
