As a guest staying overnight in the communes of Interlaken, Matten, Unterseen, Wilderswil, Gsteigwiler, Saxeten, Bönigen, Iseltwald, Ringgenberg, Goldswil and Niederried, you pay a visitor's tax.
This specific tax is used by Interlaken Tourism to support and develop tourist attractions.

In return, your host will provide you with our guest card, which offers you an interesting and wide range of discounts as well as free public transport on local transport within the area of validity.

- What is the Interlaken guest card and who is authorised to use it?As a guest staying overnight in the communes of Interlaken, Matten, Unterseen, Wilderswil, Gsteigwiler, Saxeten, Bönigen, Iseltwald, Ringgenberg, Goldswil and Niederried, you pay a visitor's tax.
    This specific tax is used by Interlaken Tourism to support and develop tourist attractions.
    
    In return, your host will provide you with a personalised guest card on paper in credit card format, which offers you an interesting and wide range of discounts as well as free public transport on local transport within the area of validity.
- Where do I get the Interlaken guest card?You get the Interlaken guest card from your host on arrival at your accommodation.
- Does every guest need a guest card? What about my children?Your guest card is individualised, and each guest therefore receives a separate guest card.
    Children from 6 to 16 years old receive it as well.
    
    Children under the age of 6 do not receive a guest card. Most services are free of charge for them.
    You can find more detailed information at the different excursion destinations.
- Do dogs receive an Interlaken guest card?No, dogs are not valid for a guest card.
    
    Please check with your host before your arrival whether dogs are allowed in the accommodation.
    
    Your family members with four legs travel for free on the Jungfrau Railways routes (excluding the Eiger Glacier to Jungfraujoch).

- Is there a digital version of the Interlaken guest card? The digital version of the Interlaken guest card is the Interlaken Pass.
- What information are required for the Interlaken guest card?The guest card is personalised.
    You will need the surname, first name, nationality, home address, e-mail address and dates of the stay of the person making the main booking. Furthermore, the surname, first name, date of birth, nationality and dates of the stay are required for each person travelling with you.
- What are the personal details used for?You will find all information on privacy in our data protection policy.

### **Questions for using** 

- What happens if I don't want the Interlaken guest card neither physically nor digitally?The Interlaken guest card is offered to you as an additional benefit to your paid visitor's tax.
    If you do not want a guest card, you will not be provided with one. This also means that you will not be able to benefit from any discounts or discounted rides on public transport.
    
    If you choose not to use the Interlaken guest card, the visitor's tax will not be reduced.
- Do I have access to the Interlaken guest card before I arrive and am I able to use it?With the digital version of the Interlaken guest card, the **Interlaken Pass**, 
    you can enjoy the benefits even before you arrive and use the pass on arrival.
    
    However, the offers can only be used during your stay.
- Do I have to book a public transport ticket even though I have a guest card?Public transport in the Holiday Region Interlaken is included within the area of validity. 
    Therefore, you don't have to buy a ticket, just show your Interlaken guest card.
    
    As dogs are not included in the Interlaken guest card, you will have to buy a ticket depending on the size of the dog.
    
    A ticket is also required for the transport of bicycles/bikes.

- Can the Interlaken guest card be accumulated?The Interlaken guest card **cannot be combined** with other offers such as the Swiss Travel Pass, Bernese Oberland Pass, Half-Fare Travelcard, GA Travelcard or similar.
